New users: within 60 seconds. If you're experienced, you can set up a ride on the platform in 30 seconds.

Usually, you will receive multiple responses within two hours. Drivers generally find longer rides more appealing than shorter ones, so longer rides typically receive more applications. (Do you have a late-night ride from A to B? Consider Rent A Bob as well.)

Every driver has been tested and certified by DriveMe, both in theory and in practice. Want the highest quality? Choose a driver from the Business class. These are the certified executive chauffeurs. The most popular class is the Comfort class.

Place your ride on the platform well in advance. Provide accurate addresses and stops. Provide additional details about the ride and specify the type of car you have. Private drivers appreciate being able to prepare thoroughly for a job.

After you've selected a driver for your ride, you can also chat with them through the DriveMe app. Convenient, right?

In the Netherlands, all cars are insured based on their license plates, not the driver. This means that the private driver is covered under the terms of your insurance. More information can be found on the insurance page.

At the end of the ride, the invoice is generated based on the driver's declaration. This invoice will be emailed to you and will also appear in your DriveMe account immediately. You can specify whether you want to pay via iDeal or credit card through your app settings.

About the Platform – Clients

DriveMe aims to provide you with a platform where you can post a ride request, and private chauffeurs can offer their services to fulfill it. This allows you to work in your own car instead of driving yourself, making your time far more efficient! For private chauffeurs, this platform offers the opportunity to showcase their services to multiple clients, enabling them to earn a solid income while driving.

When you’d rather work than drive yourself, you can post a ride request on DriveMe’s bulletin board. Self-employed private chauffeurs (FreeFlexers) interested in the job will respond by offering their services. From the pool of available chauffeurs, you can select the one that best fits your preferences. We then take care of finalizing the service agreement. After the ride, the chauffeur reports the number of hours worked, and the invoice is generated and processed.

The platform welcomes anyone who wants to earn money as a self-employed chauffeur (FreeFlexer). This can include certified executive chauffeurs, but also students looking to fund their studies (or other expenses) by working as private chauffeurs. Every chauffeur must be registered as a business with the Chamber of Commerce. Read more about our type of drivers.

A client pays the hourly rate of the chauffeur, plus a flat fee of €10 per assignment (not per hour). For example, if you hire a chauffeur with an hourly rate of €15 for a 5-hour period, the total cost will be €75 + €10 = €85, excluding VAT.

My account / profile

The GDPR clearly outlines how personal data must be handled. For this reason, we have specifically detailed which data is stored and for what purposes. You can read more about it at cookie declaratie and privacybeleid.

The private chauffeur will only see the information relevant to the ride assignment, such as your name and phone number, the destinations of the ride, and the type of car to be driven.

The client’s profile is not visible and is only partially shared with the chauffeur once the service agreement has been finalized.

This is a note you’d like to share with every chauffeur who drives for you. It can include information about the parking situation at your home, details about your car, or specific preferences regarding driving behavior. This note is sent to the chauffeur for every ride. Additionally, you can provide ride-specific comments when posting a new assignment.

For each ride, you can indicate whether you want to pay as a business or private individual. There is also an option to provide a billing email address and a PO number.

Yes, it is possible to make a reservation for someone other than yourself. To do so, you’ll need to provide the name and phone number of the passenger. DriveMe also offers an assistant feature, allowing a user to invite an assistant. The assistant can then book rides and select chauffeurs on behalf of the client.

Placing a ride request on the platform

For a round trip, the destination address is the same as the starting address. For a one-way trip (A-B trip), the destination differs from the starting address. This is important information for the chauffeur, but also for calculating the cost. For a one-way trip, in addition to the chauffeur’s driving time, compensation for travel time and expenses will also be included.

After entering a ride request, it will be posted on the bulletin board. Chauffeurs can see the city where the ride starts and at what time, as well as whether there are stops along the way (and in which cities), and where and when the ride ends. A chauffeur can indicate their availability for your ride via the platform.

At any time, you can see how many chauffeurs are available, their qualifications, and the cost of the ride. When you find a chauffeur who meets your requirements, you can select them with a single click. At that moment, a service agreement is established between you and the chauffeur.

There is no specific time limit for posting assignments. However, it won’t surprise you that the earlier an assignment is posted, the more chauffeurs will see it and respond. Therefore, always try to post an assignment as early as possible.

An assignment can always be removed from the bulletin board. As long as the assignment is on the bulletin board, no chauffeur has been selected and no service agreement has been established.

Canceling Rides and Canceled Rides

If an assignment cannot proceed because you’re sick, that’s obviously very unfortunate. It also has consequences for the chauffeur, as they cannot complete their work and therefore do not earn money.

Everyone gets sick occasionally. The average for a working person is once a year. We’ve taken that average as a benchmark, and the same rules apply to both clients and chauffeurs. Once per year, you can cancel an assignment due to illness without any consequences. For subsequent sick cancellations, the same rules apply as for canceling a ride.

To cancel an assignment, you can contact 0850443733.

You can cancel a ride by calling DriveMe at 0850443733. The ride will then be canceled, and the chauffeur will be notified.

The service agreement established between you and the chauffeur creates obligations for both parties.
For you, this means you are required to utilize the chauffeur’s services. The same cancellation rules apply to both the client and the chauffeur.

  • Up to 72 hours before the assignment: Cancellation is free of charge.
  • 72 to 48 hours before the assignment: A cancellation fee of 25% of the agreed ride amount applies.
  • 48 to 24 hours before the assignment: A cancellation fee of 50% of the agreed ride amount applies.
  • 24 to 0 hours before the assignment: A cancellation fee of 100% of the agreed ride amount applies.

Driving, Completing, and Reviewing Rides

You will see the chauffeur’s photo and profile description, as well as their chauffeur class and rate. Communication with the chauffeur is done via the in-app chat after the chauffeur has been selected.

The chauffeur submits the declaration of hours worked via DriveMe after the ride. Based on this information, the chauffeur’s invoice is generated. It is advisable to review the hours worked with the chauffeur at the end of the ride assignment.

Reviews from clients are very important for chauffeurs, as well as for the smooth functioning of the platform. Naturally, we want skilled private chauffeurs to receive good reviews, motivating them to grow into even better chauffeurs, thereby achieving an overall high-quality standard.

That’s why it’s crucial to provide a relevant review of the chauffeur after the ride, even if their performance could use improvement. This feedback helps the chauffeur to perform even better on their next assignment.

After selecting a chauffeur, the app provides the option to chat with them, similar to WhatsApp. Your first message will be your explanation of the ride (if you have provided one).

Rates, invoices and payments

Absolutely. When a chauffeur responds to your ride request, you can see their costs directly on the platform. A small fixed fee of €7.50 is added to the chauffeur’s costs to cover the platform’s expenses.

The rate for a private chauffeur on the DriveMe platform starts at €12.50 excl. VAT per hour. This is the starting rate for a chauffeur in the economy class—a beginner private chauffeur. For more experienced chauffeurs, the average rate is €16.50 excl. VAT per hour. A certified executive chauffeur starts at €20 excl. VAT per hour. (Still significantly less than what you’d pay at a traditional chauffeur company.)

A chauffeur can set their own hourly rate in combination with a minimum booking duration—the minimum assignment time that must be paid for, even if the ride is shorter. These are the minimum costs for a ride. There is no maximum for chauffeur rates, but of course, a (too) high hourly rate may negatively impact the demand for the chauffeur’s services.

After the ride, an invoice is generated based on the chauffeur’s declaration. This invoice is emailed to you and is also immediately available in your DriveMe account. You can pay the invoice via credit card or iDeal..

An invoice is generated for every ride booked through the platform. It is also possible to create weekly or monthly summary invoices.
